Privacy Policy
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how HALO Trade Copier ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the HALO Trade Copier browser extension, the HALO Trade Copier desktop companion for Windows (together, the "Software"), and the website at halocopier.com (the "Site").
This Policy applies to visitors of the Site and users of the Software. It does not apply to third-party platforms you connect to with the Software (such as Tradovate), which are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Our Local-First Design
The Software is built to run entirely on your own computer. In particular:
- We do not collect your trading data. Account tokens, order data, positions, and settings processed by the Software are stored only in your browser and on your PC. They are not transmitted to us or to any server operated by us.
- We do not collect your login credentials. Login and authentication happen directly between your device and your trading platform.
- Orders go straight to your platform. The Software sends orders directly from your device to Tradovate; they are never relayed through a server operated by us.
- No account is required. Using the Software does not require creating an account with us, and we do not ask for your name, address, or payment details for the Software itself. (Purchases are processed by our payment provider — see Section 3.3.)
3. Information We Do Collect
3.1 Website analytics
When you visit the Site, we use third-party analytics services — Google Analytics and Baidu Analytics — to understand how the Site is used. These services may collect information such as your IP address (which we do not use to identify you), approximate location derived from the IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and the time and duration of visits. This information is used in aggregate to measure and improve the Site.
3.2 Support communications
If you contact us by email (for example, at yanchuang520520@gmail.com), we receive your email address and the content of your message, and we use them solely to respond to you and to provide support.
3.3 Purchases and license keys
When you buy a license or start a trial, the transaction is processed by our payment provider, Freemius, which acts as the merchant of record. Freemius collects the information needed to complete the purchase (such as your email address and payment details) under its own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to provide your license key and support, such as your email address and license status. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
3.4 What the Software does not collect
Aside from the website analytics described above (which apply to the Site only, not to the Software), we do not collect telemetry, usage statistics, error reports, or any other data from the Software.
4. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
- To understand aggregate usage trends and diagnose problems with the Site;
- To process purchases, deliver license keys, and manage license activations;
- To respond to your questions and support requests;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site itself does not set cookies to store your personal data. Cookies and similar technologies are set by the analytics services described above when you visit the Site, and by our payment provider during checkout. For details, including how to manage or disable them, please see our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Sharing
We share information only in the limited ways described below:
- Analytics providers. Google and Baidu process website analytics data on our behalf as described in Sections 3.1 and 5.
- Payment provider. Freemius processes purchases and license management as the merchant of record, as described in Section 3.3.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business transfers. If the project is ever transferred or reorganized, information described in this Policy (which, for the Software itself, is none) may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not share your trading data, because we never receive it.
7. Data Retention
Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. Purchase records are retained by Freemius as required for tax and accounting purposes. Website analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the respective analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics retention defaults).
8. Data Security
Because the Software keeps your trading data on your own device, its security largely depends on your device's security (for example, your OS account, browser profile, and disk encryption). We recommend keeping your system updated and your device protected. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information you choose to send us by email.
9. International Visitors
The analytics providers we use (Google and Baidu) and our payment provider (Freemius) may process data on servers located outside your country. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws than your own.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data — such as the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, or (under the CCPA/CPRA) to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its "sale" (we do not sell personal information).
Because we hold almost no personal data (typically only your support and license emails), these rights can usually be exercised with a simple email request. To exercise any right, contact yanchuang520520@gmail.com.
To limit analytics cookies specifically, you can adjust your browser settings or use the opt-out mechanisms described in our Cookie Policy.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site and Software are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Controls
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting DNT, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. You can manage analytics cookies through the mechanisms described in our Cookie Policy.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
